About Ron Tussing

Ron Tussing was a 36 year law enforcement professional before being sworn in as mayor of Billings in January 2006. He served as SWAT team leader, detective, Sheriff of Lancaster County Nebraska, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol and Chief of Police in Billings. During his tenure as Mayor, Ron has emphasized open communication and citizen involvement in order to maintain trust with the community. He created two new commissions: the Mayor's Committee on Homelessness and the Energy and Conservation Commission, both of which have been very productive. He has also attended almost 400 meetings and events during his first year in office. Ron and his wife Darlene have four daughters and nine grandchildren--soon to be 10! Besides spending time with them, he enjoys participating in athletic events and many outdoor activities in Big Sky Country.
